Another activity that is coming back into the home is home dressmaking -- it is safe to judge by the wave of publicity and advertising and the increase in the sale of patterns. So this how-to-do-it book should prove an excellent stock item. The author is well established in the field and has written both newspaper and magazine articles, columns and books. I was very much impressed with the clarity and simplicity of her directions, and the excellent diagrams and illustrations of procedure, step by step. The book covers equipment, style, design, fundamentals of plain sewing, trimmings, finishes, tailoring, handling fur, remodelling, the cutting from patterns, fitting and finishing. Excellent job.
