KIRKUS REVIEW

A common among the fishermen of China and the importance it holds for one little boy is enacted here with skill and fervor. Ti Nang Dinh could not restrain his joy this special morning. This was the day he would be center boy in the fish haul. As the men and women lay the and tie the ropes around their waists, the young boys wait to gather the silver fish once the nets surface. The struggle of the haul, the excitement of the catch, the special thrill the center boy feels in performing his task will captivate children who may know nothing about the custom but everything about the joy of a unique day.
