KIRKUS REVIEW

A story of the Indians in retreat before the ruthless raids of the white man on the buffalo herds that gave the Indians life. In spite of horse thieving, in spite of massacre, one is sympathetic with the Buffalo Clan to which Sun Eagle belongs. As a lad he had seen a white buffalo and the medicine man of the tribe had condemned him to a search for the creature which lasted for years. Finally, while his people were facing the necessity of succumbing to the whites, Little Hump fell to wolves.
