MIDNIGHT

Nature story of the Western high ranges, in the tale of Lady Ebony, who ran away to join the wild horses. An old timer who had gone to the mines to get gold to buy her arrives too late -- and is accused of horse stealing. Lady Ebony, meantime, has gone wild; she bears a colt, Midnight, and teaches him what she has learned; she comes to the cabin to seek her old friend, finds him gone, and dies protecting her colt. Midnight grows up, almost wins the right to lead the band -- but eventually is recognized and won to the ways of man by the old timer who had wanted his mother.
