ICEBLINK by Rutherford Montgomery

The Barrows, bleak district near the Arctic Circle, and a period of famine, when any effort to help the tribe is important --such is the background for the story of a youth whose efforts seemed to fail through carelessness, and who was put out on his own, to prove his manhood. A vigorous and convincing picture of the far north, plenty of incident, and -- towards the close -- a rather unexpected touch of romance, which wont spoil its chances with older boys but may enhance it with girls.
