BIG BROWNIE

This is first rate true nature material in a story of Kodiak bears, the largest bears known, through the adventures of Ruth Keller and her father who lived in the valley and tried to keep their district free of hunters and a happy hunting ground for the bears they loved. One gets a feeling of the bears as almost human, yet at no time does the author descend to endowing them with unbelievable human qualities. The story interest centers around a big she bear and her cubs.
