KIRKUS REVIEW

This introduces a new series of books which may prove good plus sale features. The Foreign Policy Association is launching a series of ""Headline Books"" with this title, as part of an educational program on world affairs. Brief text -- graphic charts -- cold facts well marshalled, showing the path we are taking which may involve us in the next war, unless we face facts and determine our course of peace before -- as in 1917 -- it is too late. The exposition is clearly intended for an introduction to the reader who accepts word of mouth viewpoints, and will not bother with a scholarly presentation of the social and economic implications. This is frankly a ""tabloid dose"" -- and should sell well to older boys and girls, study groups, etc. Other titles in preparation.
