Flying arrows, galloping horses, and sprinting, be-feathered Indians in the lively full-page sketches by Dick Jones for the old ballad. ""I'll tell you a story"", the ballad begins, and the young hero, with his mustang, Plantonio, is chosen to ride to call for ""aid and protection of New Mexico"" as Indians are on the way. Pursued by Indians the brave hero and Plantonio finally reach the fort, but not in time to miss an Indian arrow aimed mid-center rear. Attractive format, boisterous, waggish humor.
