Two teens revive their ex-rock star dad’s career in this totally twisted tale. Once upon a time, Eric Thrashmettle was lead guitarist and singer of Death Eric, “the biggest, loudest, headbangingest, most outrageous rock-and-roll band in the known universe.” But Eric’s career ended abruptly when a raven cursed him during a performance at the Chickenstock Festival. Now the retired Eric lives in ex-rock star style at Dunravin mansion with his daughter Lou and son Buddy, who are a bit embarrassed by their freaky burned-out dad. Lou wears elegantly tailored suits, loves to read and collects expensive reptiles. Buddy wears black blazers and Gucci loafers, loves math and collects expensive scientific instruments. When Eric’s manager suddenly disappears with the family cash, Lou and Buddy know the only way to make money is to get Death Eric back in the groove and on the road. Somehow the enterprising Lou and Buddy unblock the blocked rockers, lift the raven’s curse and save the dough. Hilarious and wonderfully wacky. (Fiction. 10-14)
