This was reported in the bulletin of 10/1/41, for publication 11/18, as a two-volume edition (before February 21-$9.00 -- after publication -- $10.00). Now as a selection of the Book of the Month, the publishers are issuing a one-volume edition. Our naval expert reported on the book as follows:- ""A most complete history of the voyage of Christopher Columbus, with a wealth of detail and notes galore. The author starts in by initiating the reader into the art of sailing and the practice of navigation in 1492. I felt I had a fair working knowledge of Columbus but after reading this I found a tremendous lot I did not know. Morison writes entertainingly, but there are so many notes that one bogs down in them. For the student, an important book. But I see its market only as the most rabid addicts of sea literature. For the average bookshop, a book to stock only for specific customers.
