KIRKUS REVIEW

A book for ministers about the ministry. The dynamic rector of Calvary pal Church in New York attempts here to share with his fellow clergy and those who are thinking of entering the ministry some of his insights as to the central tasks, responsibilities and requirements of the calling and to point out some of the problems and which are encountered. Dr. Shoemaker has in mind principally theological students and young ministers, but he also has a word for older clergymen who have lost their of mission and laymen who would like to know what it is all about. As one would expert of Dr. Shoemaker this book places primary emphasis upon the opportunity open to ministate for evangelism carried on by a warm personal relationship created in the parish. The reading of this would be of profit to every minister, and for young ministers and arians it is a ""must"".
