Dr. Silver is a rabbi (Stamford, Connecticut) and he has collected a whole thesaurus of thoughts about happiness--man's right to a joyful existence. Like bluebirds they flutter, from Pascal and the Bible to golfer Walter Hagen and psychiatrist Eric Berne, and actually his whole book is a cheerer-upper on the carpe diem theme with a little philosophic extension. Not much, though.
