THIS CHANGING WORLD

The owner of a great industry gives his own philosophy of life and work, stresses the need of a goal other than gain and material profit, and points out the dangers of forgetting a social responsibility. He believes in a six-hour day and a five-day week, in the highest wages and the lowest prices commensurate with common sense, in minimum profits and compulsory employment insurance, in socialized public utilities and adaptation of scientific discoveries to the common need, in the elimination of child labor and the advance of progressive education. A large program and a visionary one. Perhaps, but as he has presented it, a sane and practical one, with enough of the inspirational note to catch the imagination of the average citizen. Never for a moment ""preachy"" but an honest, straightforward expression of one man's opinion. Just what the market should be, depends on your individual clientele.
