This is an excellent collection of stories to read aloud, but the ""bedtime tales"" would seem to indicate a different type from those selected. There are thirty stories here, modern stories of everyday things, familiar classics, fairy tales, verse. The names suggest the standards set:- Thornton Burgess, the Jacksons, Lucy Sprague Mitchell, Elizabeth Orton Jones, Emma Brock, Ruskin, Lamb, etc. etc. Big Golden Book format.
