KIRKUS REVIEW

This for the television-comics audience, demanding more and better Westerns for the second and third grade level. Tousey rarely misses, so this is surely popular. Nine year old Hal had a pet donkey, but yearned for a horse of his own. Here's the story of how he earned the right to one,- proving his markmanship when he killed a chicken hawk in flight, proving his ability to handle a cow pony on a difficult chase. There are all the ingredients here; cowboy stuff, rustlers, and so on.
