It is disappointing to have so poor a book from an experienced storyteller like Sanford Tousey, as jerky sentences and stock characters eke out a poor plot. Bill and his uncle do pony and rope tricks and a circus manager hires them. A black villain puts cockleburs under the saddle and the pony misbehaves, but Uncle Sam site tight and the villain is uncovered. Bill gets his mead of fame when he does a rope act. Sloppy values-slipshod writing.
