KIRKUS REVIEW

Sanford Tousey has a faculty for telling a good story in simple form for second and third graders. This time he has told of a small boy who lived with the advancing railroad as the Union Pacific moved west from Omaha, racing the Central Pacific to Ogden. Bob is in on the discovery of a plot to wreck the tracks, and gets a ride in the engine cab as a reward.
