HEAD WINDS

Miss Phoebe Ann was Belleport's Miss Fixit, and, as the local dressmaker there was no problem too little or too big that Miss Phoebe Ann couldn't cope with. She manages to iron out the difficulties of Joan Jepson's love for Clive Weldon, a wealthy summer transient, capably assisted by Selma, Phoebe Ann's good companion, and proves Joan's heart belongs somewhere else. Miss Bassett's perennial themes of happiness in unselfishness, her happy-ending romances have an established audience, though the diet is somewhat bland for the selective reader.
