KIRKUS REVIEW

A very few rare, uncelebrated souls discuss murder mysteries as books and some of them feel Sara Woods may be one of those forest-for-the-trees confusions that might really be by a Marsh (N.); a closely observed upper crust, a deceptively simple yet familiar plot, a lawyer-hero who muddles (but never fumbles) through. It's an Anthony Maitland, Barrister, mystery and this time (see The Windy Side of the Law, Trusted Like the Fox, etc.) he's coping with post mortem blackmail. Absorbing, intelligent, escape-with-pleasure to one of those I-figured-it-out-and-the-book-caught-up-with-me endings.
