Another wordless book from the creator of Across Town (1990). While this French artist's use of very simple images formed by collages of roughly torn and cut paper is again outstanding graphically, the story of a fierce-looking wolf making friends with the rabbit it has saved from a fox is at odds with both reality and convention. That rabbit is taking a terrrible chance; still, the art here is extraordinary and the outcome, at the least, provocative. (Picture book. 4-8)
