EVERY CHILD'S BOOK OF VERSE

A mammoth collection of no particular distinction. The most frequently anthologized juvenile and adult-kids-can-read poets are included--Behn, the Benets, Blake again, Carroll, Colum, Farjeon, Hubbell, Hughes, Keats, Reeves, Rossetti, Stephens, etc. Grouped by simple but not mutually exclusive subjects--Animals in one, Cats and Dogs in another, Birds in a third--they appear with plain, brightly colored drawings that look very young. The Oxford collection, for one, is more discriminating--and easier to hold.
