KIRKUS REVIEW

Barbara Lovett Cline has deftly revised Miss Bolton's collection of biographical sketches. With an emphasis on modern times, she has included such men as Jonas Salk, discoverer of the poli vaccin, Enrico Fermt, contemporary atomic physicist, Lee and Yang, physicists, who ""caused the collapse of the conservation of parity law"", Harold Urey, who proved the existence of heavy hydrogen, and Herman Mark, teacher, editor, consultant, administrator in the field of chemistry. Still present in the first section of the book are chapters on Gall, newton, Faraday and other renowned scientists. Worthwhile concise reading for science-minded young people.
