YOUR CAREER -- IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO COLLEGE

More than 50% of our high school graduates do not continue their education according to the author's figures. Her book is aimed at this large group and emphasizes the dignity of the occupations that they will assume. She is at pains to combat the acceptance of a feeling of second class citizenship by those who forego further education. Her background as a well known guidance consultant is evident in the thorough text which moves from the hows of getting a job to brief descriptions of the myriad of jobs available. Throughout the book and in a final section she points out the books and pamphlets that offer sound advice on career opportunities. There is a listing (with full addresses given) of the regional offices in charge of apprenticeship training. A helpful and hope-filled book.
