BOOK OF BELLS (John Day)

Pub Date: Oct. 28th, 1938

Designed for both adult and juvenile sale, but it seems to us to fit into the category of a book for teachers, primarily. The author is a teacher at Lincoln School and the author of the Singing Time books -- and she writes in a somewhat school-marmish manner. The first part of the book deals with the history of bells, legends, rites, inscriptions, types of bells, famous bells of east and west. The second part is practical, telling how to make and play bells, and including a list of bell songs and poems. Superficial from angle of hobby book or professional book.
