THE NEW SINGING TIME

A book of original songs by the author of previous ""Singing Time"" books continues her excellent work in this new volume. It follows concepts of the earlier books in concentrating on children's interests- the zoo, horn and drum, riding in a train, what we eat, planting seeds, snowflakes, making cookies, birthday, etc., etc.-; the tunes are planned for little voices; the subjects are selected for dramatic play and further lyrics; rhythm and rhythmic activity are part of the program. A pleasant complement to other song books, around the house as well as in school, for the piano parts, although not complicated, are not childish in treatment.
