We Chose Cape Cod (P. 410- 1953) supplied Cape Codders-holiday wise- with nostalgic tidbits. This follow up is an anecdotal and biographical history of the Cape, and a guide to town sights. He goes back to the days when Gosnold, in 1602, discovered it and gave it its name; he follows through Revolutionary days when Cape men served on land and sea. He unreels tale after tale of Cape Codders, such as a delightful one of a determined captain who traveled to Paris of the Terror to demand redress for a despoiled cargo. Another section gives hard facts about the fifteen Cape towns, and practical notes on what to see. On the sunstruck side, perhaps, but there's contagious feel for Cape Cod character and vacation fun.
