KIRKUS REVIEW

Feminine misadventure in another Eve Gill story (remember Outrun the Constable). Eve manages to involve herself in her father's illegal activities (all very gentlemanly) -- to escape in a melodramatic fashion and pay the piper her own unique way -- and to have some heart palpitations, briefly, over her rescuer, a chivalric Don Quixote with a mother complex, Edward Forsyth, only to find herself out of one sort of trouble and into another, as an unwilling observer of murder. Plenty of excitement before her substantial policemn friend, ""Plain Smith"", untangles her snarls. Good-not top-drawer.
