A Wodehousian pother in which an old author with his second wind somewhat long windededly charts an investment fraud in the house of Hammond and Morgan, third largest merchant bank in London. Involved in the portfolio, John Addis alias John Hammond, young controlling factor with no head for business but an eye for Victoria Norton, an avid computer programmer; two members of the firm with whom she's involving herself (only one dies in her bed); an ex-husband; and a pretty and faithful aide... A caper protracted, with lots of momentum or is it just perpetual motion?
