KIRKUS REVIEW

Eve Gill (Outrun the Constable) again indulging her talent for trouble as she independently investigates the disappearance of a Mrs. Frampton, plays along with James Belsin, a man of charm and consequence, whom she suspects is implicated. In spite of Belsin's expensive siege, his power and powerful attraction, Eve is not misled, and eventually goes beyond the law to impose retribution. Romantic values here, which include a certain foolhardiness as well as glamor.
