KIRKUS REVIEW

Eve Gill tangles with the local East Anglia police when she aids Fortis, suspected of doing away with his wife, escape from the hospital. When the wife turns up -- it is Fortis who dies and Eve who starts gossip to bring the killer to light, to prevent another killing, and to vindicate her belief in Fortis in the first place. The process of indirection smoothly argued and proved.
