TROPICAL SALT-WATER AQUARIUMS

A saltwater aquarium is a more complex arrangement than the goldfish tanks of Cooper and Stein (reviewed in this issue) and Simon is accordingly more thorough in his instructions and conscientious about emphasizing care, precaution, and patience. For those willing to invest the time and money he offers some sane and relatively detailed advice on setting up, introducing new fish, feeding, and maintenance; and his descriptions of specific fish (with warnings as to who might eat whom) are divided into hardy ones for beginners (damsels lead the list) and some beauties (angelfish, butterflies) that require some experience of the hobbyist. Responsible.
