The story of George Custer's life was tremendously exciting. At the age of four he decided that he would be a soldier and even boasted that he would be a general some day. He went to West Point and at twenty-one was a general with the Union Forces. Because of his youth and golden curls he was often nick-named ""The General with the Golden Curls"". His arrogant air of self confidence, his swagger, and his hearty laugh helped him through many a tight place, especially in his dealings with the Indians, who feared but respected him. He finally fell in the massacre in the Valley of the Little Big Horn by the Sioux Indians, in 187 at the age of thirty-seven. A stirring biography of a great soldier.
