KIRKUS REVIEW

Long a favorite of teenagers, Emily Dickinson is treated carefully and wisely by helen Plotz. The selections have been intelligently grouped under the following headings, which serve as guides even though they necessarily blend into each other: ""The Temporal World,"" ""The World of Nature,"" ""The World of Love,"" ""The World Within,"" and ""The Eternal World."" Although the poet's themes are often complex, the stark, simple words will encourage the reader to attempt an understanding of her works. Both familiar and obscure poems have been included in this sound selection which is representative of this American poet.
