JENNY'S JOURNEY

Lonely for friend Maria, who has moved away, Jenny writes her a letter describing an imaginary journey to see her, across the ocean in a little, leopard-headed sailboat. The adventure isn't exceptional, but Jenny's resourceful approach to the separation and the sunny watercolors of the self-reliant African American child enjoying her varied journey are as refreshing as a sea breeze.
