KIRKUS REVIEW

Sally in Rhodesia is one of the utterly charming and original books of the past five years, and would reward investigation for those of you who are not familiar with it. Shella Macdonald uses the same background -- the English colony in modern South Africa -- for this new novel, the story of an English girl who tried to rebuild her life and forget the past, and who sacrificed herself in the service of the family she served. Mr. Crusoe, the mystery prospector, turns the tables and saves the day -- good picture of the daily round on an African farm, but not up to the standard of Sally.
