Some familiar and fairly foolproof elements for the story of Denise, a born nurse, who throws up her job under Dr. Curt Steele, blunt, brusque and independent, in a moment of rebellion. Vacationing in Canada, Denise stays on to nurse in a wilderness hospital, short handed and short on money, where Dr. Ned (who also falls in love with her) is often unsure of his methods. But when Denise is injured, and Dr. Ned threatens to amputate her leg, she sends for Steele, and in his care, which is to become permanent, she recovers. The August selection of the Christian Herald's Family Bookshelf, this is safe and sound for rentals.
