GREAT FLYING ADVENTURES: Spine-Tingling Accounts of 11 True Aviation Exploits

Seat-of-the-pants landings in the Andes, the Arctic, and on the George Washington Bridge, ""uncorking"" at Mach 2, sailing to Hawaii in a disabled seaplane and flying crosscountry in 49 days in the primitive Vin Fiz are all more than enough to tingle spines so inclined. Except for adding a concluding ""where are they now"" (mostly dead as the result of less successful adventures) and lots of old news photos, Sherwood puts his material on automatic pilot. Despite the routine series treatment, it entertains.
