THE SHIPWRECKED DOG

Forced to leave Portugal for America after his father's death, young Carlos finds it impossible to think of the New England fishing village as home. When a ship-wrecked pup appears on the scene, the boy learns the way as he watches the shy dog gradually accept his new home and master. All is rounded in a quiet happiness as Carlos at last accepts his aunt and uncle and decides to stay in America. Although touched with sentimentalism, it is a pleasant but unmomentous story.
