THE ART OF THE ANCIENT EGYPT

The author lectures to children at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in N.Y.C. and her gift of introducing Egyptian art as a beginning for children out of reach of what the Museum can offer. It is extra successful, not only in the beauty of the presentation- design and photography against color blocked backgrounds showing vividly the dramatic mural designs, portraiture, sculpture and ceramics of an ancient and gifted people, but in linking their art to their customs and ways of life. This is a first in a proposed of art books for third to fifth graders.
