TEXAS: The Land of the Tejas

This is a lovely looking book -- one of those big flat picture books which tend to be classed younger than they actually are. This is virtually a picture book for any age from eight or nine up, with 75 drawings closely linked to an informative text which makes the most, in brief space, of the colorful, dramatic history of the state, with Indians, Spaniards, Mexicans, Conquistadors, traders, explorers, missionaries, soldiers, cattlemen, all making their contribution to its growth into statehood. A good introduction to state history.
