NEW TOWN IN TEXAS

A very large family moves down through Indian Territory across the Red River in to Texas in search of better opportunities after the Civil War. The big guess for the settlers is to decide where the railroads are going and therefore where to set up in business. The father of this tribe opens a store in a rambling, gambling settlement which later becomes Denison City and far more respectable when the railroad comes through. The greatest regret of the young heroine is that she has been born too late for hair raising adventure with Indians, though there are still plenty around. The great love of her life is Little Women, while her sister devours each new issue of Godays. Story of character and background rather than incident.
