WHAT TO DO WHEN YOUR BILLS EXCEED YOUR PAYCHECK: Everything You Need to Know About Getting Out of Debt

A handbook by a lawyer on the legal rights of the debtor: how he can invalidate his creditor's claim, what he can do when a judgment is made against him, what is involved in filing for bankruptcy, how to deal with abusive harassment (you'll be surprised to discover that you can charge your creditor with extortion). Sherwin briefly covers matters such as car loans, mortgages and credit cards, but the topic of credit bureaus -- their uses and abuses -- is conspicuously absent. More a directory of statutory options than a practical how to get out of debt, it may give non-lawyers some trouble, although it is intelligible and useful, if you read it closely.
