Based on a TV show of the same name this book discusses the enterprises of several men and women whose efforts have merited that insipid but popular adjective ""successful"". The erudition of the authors is most striking as they warn that there is no pat set of rules for being successful. Diligence, ingenuity, fortitude and things like that can be imitated after reading about Gene Turney and his wire markers and name plates, Silberstein the German who made good in basic industry, the widow who was left with 1/3 of the Gladding stock and what she did with it, Gus Willer's Meadow Brook Bank (and more), but the particulars, unfortunately, have to be individually derived. For the grey-flannel crowd.
