The galleys available as of this date go through President Roosevelt's death. Material on the San Francisco conference is being prepared and will be reported later. As the text stands, it presents a useful handbook on the successive international conferences which will provide a foundation for a new world order -- groundwork for the United Nations in peace. Starting with the Atlantic Charter, analyzing the wording, studying the obstacles and the compromises met in fitting the Charter into subsequent meetings of mind -- Miss Arne -- A.P. reporter -- makes us realize the close interweaving of Atlantic Charter, United Nations declaration, Casablanca, the food conference at ot Springs, the Quebec conferences, the Moscow Pact, the formation of UNRRA, Cairo, Teheran, the Philadelphia meeting of I.L.O., Bretton Woods, the Aviation Conference, and Yalta. The actual official text of each meeting follows the chapter devoted to that meeting. The style is straight journalese, highly colloquial --perhaps a deliberate bid for popularity with the man-in-the-street.
