MR. MYSTERIOUS AND COMPANY

A new slant on the frontier story -- and a most welcome and delightful one as Mr. Mysterious and Company set out in their covered wagon to bring cheer to westerners from City to San Diego. His method is a magical show, complete with shadow pictures, rabbit tricks, , floating people and other amazing phenomena. In reality, Mr. Mysterious is the very earthy father of two irrepressible children, the husband of a good natured, bustling wife and the keeper of Madame Sweetpen and Hocus and Pocus, the animals. Use and is a mild word a mild word for the life this little group leads. During the day there are lessons for Paul and Jane and a variety of adventures on the trial. Then there is that special treat. Abracadabra Day, when the children can pursue mischief to their content without fear of reprisal. At night the transformation takes place. Presto change, father becomes the eminent wizard, Mr. Mysterious and the others fill any role necessary to put over his zanny act. How the family frightens away attacking Indians, captures an infamous outlaw and makes friends with people and animals add to a refreshing and original tale.
