KIRKUS REVIEW

A simple inn in Somerset proves to be a very unpleasant accommodation for the six odd guests summoned thereby a blackmailer. The death of one Brown, alias Silas Taker, promises to put an end to the extortion until a careful, competent investigation by the Yard up-ends not only the identity of the criminal but the true nature of the crime... British down to its brogues and just as sturdy.
