KIRKUS REVIEW

This easy to read, harder to follow postmortem on the suicide (?) of a Dr. Bewlay proceeds to the island of Guernsey and from the implication of the doctor's receptionist Lorna, to that of his brother (whose wife had also died suddenly). Then there's the Summerhill type schoolmaster who, curiously, attends the inquest, more curiously offers her a position, and whose disastrous affair with a student and equally unhappy marriage, is all riddled with the affairs of the Bewlay brothers... A heavily overloaded circuit with more than one loose connection.
