LITTLE CAT LOST

Pierrot was a cat, all white and consequently completely deaf. He also differs from Black Beauty in that his adventures, traveling from master to master are surprisingly untraumatic (with one minor, unconvincingly terrifying incident). Pierrot goes affably from loving hands to loving hands to a not completely satisfying happy ending (when the original owner, after a space of several years, talks a young gypsy boy into returning the pet). Pierrot is never humanized, but his habits and intuitions are discussed at length--to the delight of really dedicated cat lovers and the boredom of everyone else.
