DIPLOMAT OF DESTINY by Sir George Franckenstein

DIPLOMAT OF DESTINY

By

Publisher: Alliance

As son of the Austrian-Hungarian minister to Saxony and Denmark, the author was well launched in a diplomatic career from the start. He served as 18 years Austrian Ambassador at the Court of St. James, where in post war years he worked hard on strengthening the position of his country, and extending credits for economic rehabilitation. These are memoirs of a well-traveled, observant cosmopolitan, from early days in the diplomatic field, to 1938 when he ""lost his job"". Pleasantly told, with only sadness and no bitterness for Austria's loss of identity.
