KIRKUS REVIEW

This is a verse-by-verse commentary on Christ's discourse after the Last (John, Chapters 13 through 17), usually referred to as the ""farewell discourse."" lor's intention has been to provide a spiritual and theological explanation and of the implications of the subject text, and he has done an extraordinarily and comprehensive job of it, thanks in large part, to his refusal to wander byways of literary and textual criticism which seem to exercise an irresist on most biblical scholars. This is an excellent work, even a brilliant fact which cannot be obscured even by the persistent clumsiness of Father translation), and it will be an invaluable addition to any library lity or theology.
